IPC provides its web sites and offers Services to business professionals, investors, scientists, researchers, domain experts, attorneys, and others who are interested in competitive patent landscapes, patent alerts, patent searching, patent landscape reports, patent portfolio overviews, company portfolio profiles, intellectual asset management and other related content, products and services.

Our purpose in operating the web sites is to provide intellectual property services to our clients, users and subscribers. We understand the vital nature of the confidential information that is shared with us in order to provide products and services and will continue to do everything in our power to protect the privacy of our customers and the products and services that we offer. We collect only the information we need to provide accurate invoices to our customers and improve the quality and usefulness of our Services to our customers.

In order for you to access certain premium services and to purchase products that we offer via the Sites, we require you to provide us with information that personally identifies you (“Personal Information”). We also record information about your questions to us and your purchases so that we and you can keep track of what you’ve asked about or ordered directly on our site. Additionally, we may need to contact you about your questions and/or your orders. All financial and billing information that we collect through the Site is used solely to check the qualifications of prospective customers and to bill for Services. This billing information is not used by us for marketing or promotional purposes. We use a third-party intermediary to manage the credit card processing. This intermediary is solely a link in the distribution chain, and is not permitted to store, retain, or use the information provided, except for the sole purpose of credit card processing.
    3. Certain customers will be using the Sites to host Data. Unless expressly instructed by our customers, we will not review, share, distribute, print, or reference any such Data except as provided in the IPC Terms of Service or as may be required by law. Individual records may at times be viewed or accessed only for the purpose of resolving a problem, support issue, or suspected violation of the Terms of Service or as may be required by law. Of course, customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their user registration and password.

    1. Our Sites were developed with the privacy and security of our customers in mind. Our Sites have security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the personal information and Data under our control. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access that are located in controlled facilities. In addition, everything submitted to us is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This encryption method is used widely on the Internet to keep information secure. Although we use advanced encryption (Secure Socket Layers), we cannot guarantee the security of the information you transmit to us. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing, accounts receivable or customer service representatives) are granted access to personally identifiable information. If you ask IPC to delete your account, in most cases your account will be deactivated and then deleted from our database in approximately 90 days. This delay is necessary to discourage users from engaging in fraudulent activity. Please note that any information that we have copied may remain in back-up storage for some period of time after your deletion request. This may be the case even though no information about your account remains in our active user databases.
